.DISCUSSION...
Issued at 935 PM CST Wed Dec 24 2025

Surface high pressure centered across the north-central gulf coast
to maintain weak southerly flow across the region. Moisture to
continue to advect north overnight allowing for another round of
low clouds and fog across portions of the ArkLaTex with
conditions improving through late-morning on Christmas day. Hi-
Res models continue to suggest that areas of dense fog could be
possible across portions of north Louisiana and Deep East Texas
overnight with many observations across these areas and southward
already reporting reduced visibilities. For this package, went
ahead and issued a Dense Fog Advisory across north Louisiana and
Deep East Texas adjacent to advisories already in effect from
neighboring offices.

Near record high temperatures expected again on Thursday
afternoon due to an upper-level ridge prevailing areawide.
Temperatures across most locations to climb into the upper 70s to
lower 80s with overnight lows again settling in the low to mid
60s.

Warm and dry pattern to remain basically unchanged through
Sunday. A cold front will move across the region on Sunday
afternoon and evening allowing for increased rain chances
areawide. Winter to return behind the front with temperatures
ranging from highs in the 40s and lows in the 20s across the
region through the middle of next week. /05/

.AVIATION...
(12Z TAFS)
Issued at 454 AM CST Thu Dec 25 2025

Another morning of conditions ranging from VLIFR ceilings with

early this morning to begin the 12z TAF package. We should see
improving ceilings and VSBYs by mid to late morning with VFR
conditions returning by afternoon. Those VFR conditions should
prevail until late evening and overnight tonight with IFR/MVFR
ceilings and fog returns to portions of our airspace. Look for
SSW winds today with sustained speeds not likely to exceed 12kts
but a few higher gusts are possible.
